Lisa Scott Oltmans is a writer, traveler, and mom to Michael Shane Oltmans. Raising a child with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) requires reliance on God, and opening oneself up for the glory of God to shine through. She was born in New York City and educated in East Texas. In a former life, she made a living as a highly compensated computer programmer and project manager. She became a writer to tell the story of her son’s spiritual triumph over SMA. Lisa is currently working on several writing projects.
Lisa and her husband, Michael, work to help families impacted by spinal muscular atrophy. They share their home and travel with the two dogs that rescued them: a Papillion named Vinnie and a Pomeranian named Griz. Vinnie and Griz sleep on a rug under Lisa’s desk until it is time to walk at the park.
